a little about me

My name is Da-Woon Chung.

I am a student who is studying in the field of design. I am originally from South Korea, but currently I am studying in Finland.

Though my major field is industrial design, I do my living by web design and web development at the moment.

Also, I mentioned my major field as ‘industrial’ design above, but I specifically deal more with design research, system design, sustainability, and so on – generally saying, more theory-based and big-scale designs. But obviously I also love to deal with more practical, aesthetic design as well.

This means, my posts will be mainly focused on design related issues, but since design itself is such a big topic – not that I am insisting a-designer-can-just-do-everything-in-the-world – they will not necessarily always look like design related posts.

So for example, these days I am very interested in food related issues thanks to my good friend Seungho Lee, so I might post an article about organic foods, food consumption cycle, or something like this, but also I might simply update a food recipe all of sudden.

So rest is up to you how you understand what kind of person I am, through my posts.

 

a little about shinycloud

At first, shinycloud was meant to be my personal brand, and I was willing to run this blog to promote my brand.

Honestly this did not work out well because I somehow had too much pressure on myself as well as on my whole life abroad. I simply could not manage well, so I decided to change the whole idea.

Shinycloud still is my personal brand, and will always be, but this blog will be just a place where I share my thoughts, and also where I should have fun. Which means, there might not be much difference before and after for anyone but my mindset.

So if I summarise, if people asked me the reason why I run a blog, I would have answered before, that it is to share my thoughts and philosophies, to promote myself, and so on. But now, I would answer – to have fun!

Well, I am still learning by doing, in fact.
